About this open call

The brief

Loopely runs a twelve-week programme in Singapore for teams turning post-industrial waste streams into sellable feedstock: the offcuts, process residues and rejected batches that leave a plant today as a cost. The hard part is rarely the chemistry, it is the sale, so the programme puts a working process next to the buyer, the specification and the economics that decide whether the material actually moves. Teams that come through the twelve weeks leave with a pilot and investment rather than a cash prize.

What they're looking for

A process already running at pilot scale on waste you did not get to choose, with yields you have measured rather than modelled, and a partner named and willing to take the output. A strong entry can say which stream it processes, what grade comes out the other end, who buys that grade and what it costs per tonne to make. Laboratory routes, one clean batch and a plan to find an offtake partner later are the entries this programme cannot place.

Problem statements

Output nobody will buy

A recovered material only becomes feedstock when someone purchases it to a specification. Most streams come out mixed and variable, so there is no grade to quote and no buyer to quote it to.

Real waste breaks clean processes

Yields that hold on a chosen sample drift once the input carries the moisture, contamination and batch variation of a working plant. We want processes that already run continuously on material the team did not select.

Offtake comes before capacity

Capacity gets built against a buyer, not a sample. Teams who arrive with a named offtake partner spend the twelve weeks on the process; teams without one spend them looking for the partner instead.

FAQs

Who can take part?

Any startup or partner organisation in the ecosystem, entering as the team that would run the process. One entry per team.

What does it cost?

Nothing — taking part is free. Joining follows the programme; submitting puts your team forward for a place in the cohort.

What happens after I submit?

Loopely reviews entries after the deadline and interviews the teams it shortlists. Selected teams join the twelve-week cohort in Singapore.

Can I change my entry after submitting?

No — an entry is final once sent. Loopely reads it as it arrives, so take the time you need before Aug 12 and confirm when it says what you mean.

Take part

Submit your entry before the deadline. Every entry is scored against the criteria above.
